After the death of businessman Sanjay Kapoor in June, an important hearing has taken place in the Delhi High Court in the legal dispute regarding his property worth Rs 30 thousand crores. Sanjay Kapoor’s children with his ex-wife Karisma Kapoor have alleged that their stepmother and Sanjay Kapoor’s wife Priya Sachdev Kapoor has forged Sanjay’s will.
Today it took place in front of Delhi High Court’s Joint Registrar Gagandeep Jindal. During the hearing, several applications were debated, the biggest issue of which was regarding the investigation of the original will submitted in the court. On behalf of Karisma Kapoor’s children, a demand was made that a forensic examination of the will should be conducted so that it could be clear whether the document is real or fake.
Priya opposes Karisma Kapoor’s demand for children
Whereas Priya Sachdev Kapoor strongly opposed this demand. His lawyers said that he has already filed all the necessary replies in the court, whereas despite the deadline set by Karisma Kapoor, the replies were not filed. He alleged that the matter is being dragged on by continuous delay. Both the parties also remained face to face regarding the disclosure of assets.
Priya Sachdev Kapoor’s lawyer said that complete information related to the property has already been placed before Justice Jyoti Singh and the new application is unnecessary. On the contrary, Karisma Kapoor said that the property information is incomplete and she will file a detailed reply on this later.
The case will be heard next year
An interesting twist came during the hearing when Sanjay Kapoor’s mother initially said that she would not reply to an application, but after consulting the lawyers, changed her stand and said that she would file a reply. After hearing the arguments of both the parties, the Joint Registrar has fixed the next hearing of the case for January 20, 2026.
