Priyanka Chaturvedi also said that the most worrying aspect is that Grok is encouraging such behavior by complying with such requests. This is a direct violation of women’s right to privacy and unauthorized use of their photographs, which is not only unethical but also a criminal act. Priyanka Chaturvedi, being a member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on IT and Communications, has urged the IT Minister to take up this issue strictly with X and make strong safeguards mandatory in their AI apps.
Questions raised on other big tech companies
It is also written in the letter that similar patterns are also visible on the platforms of other big tech companies, on which there is currently no effective monitoring. Priyanka Chaturvedi stressed that as a nation it is necessary to take this up on a priority basis, so that women do not become victims of these blatant criminal acts and efforts are not made to silence them or push them out of social media.
