According to her family, Maya fainted on March 7 and was taken to the emergency room. Despite medical efforts, doctors could not save him as his heart and lungs had stopped functioning. Her mother said that Maya had endured a lot of pain during her illness but fought bravely till the end.

Maya Kibell’s mother Kiyoko Kibell wrote in an emotional post shared on social media, “I am very sad to post this sad news. Maya was battling a rare disease called Wilson’s Disease. She fought very hard but her body gave out. On the morning of 3/7, she collapsed and her heart and lungs stopped working. It was too late and she died in the ER.”
He further wrote in the post, “She had suffered so much that she would often fall asleep crying because of her pain.” “But now she has gone to heaven where she can be with her daddy without any pain or tears.”
