It is extremely cold in North India these days. Due to snowfall and rain in the hilly areas, the problems of the people in the plains have increased. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of very dense fog, cold wave and cold day in many states of North India for the next few days.
According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of severe fog in Punjab, Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Odisha for the next 4-5 days. Apart from this, there is a possibility of cold wave in the coming 6-7 days in Himachal Pradesh, Bihar, Punjab, Delhi, UP and Rajasthan.

With the beginning of the new year, it is becoming extremely cold in the capital Delhi. According to the Meteorological Department, the sky will be mainly clear on January 3. In the morning, there will be fog at many places and dense fog at some places. There is a possibility of wind blowing at a speed of 10 kilometers per hour.
Cold wave warning in UP
There is a possibility of fog at many places in Uttar Pradesh today (January 3) in the morning and night. According to the Meteorological Department, cold wave can be seen in UP from 6 to 9 January. There is a possibility of further cold increase today on Saturday. Bihar adjacent to UP is also experiencing severe cold. There is a possibility of very dense fog during night and morning. A warning has been issued in Bihar regarding cold day on 4th and 5th January.
Mercury reached minus in Himachal
Light rain and snowfall were seen at many places in Himachal, due to which the mercury has reached minus at many places in the state. The lowest minimum temperature in Tabo was minus -6.8 degrees Celsius. Talking about Kullu Manali, after the weather has cleared, black ice has started accumulating on the roads in the upper areas. For this reason, Rohtang Pass has now been closed for vehicular movement by the administration. Due to slippery roads, vehicles going towards Rohtang Pass will be stopped at Gulaba only.
According to Sandeep Sharma, scientist of Meteorological Center, Shimla, the weather will remain clear in most areas of the state till January 8. However, on January 6, there is a possibility of light rain/snowfall at one or two places in the high mountains of the state.
