Budget Session 2026: The budget session 2026 of Parliament, which decides the political and economic direction of the country, has started. This session is going to witness many important bills, major economic decisions and heated debates between the government and the opposition. The Union Budget to be presented on February 1 in the middle of the session and the Economic Survey 2026–27 to be tabled in Parliament today are making it even more important. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the media in the Parliament complex this morning.
In his address, Prime Minister Modi said that the President’s address yesterday was a powerful expression of the self-confidence and efforts of 140 crore countrymen. He said that the aspirations of 140 crore citizens, especially the youth, were very accurately underlined in the President’s speech.

PM Modi said that the expectations put forward by the President to the Members of Parliament at the beginning of the session and in the beginning of 2026 must have been taken seriously by all the MPs. He said that the Honorable President has also placed before the House many guiding points for all the members of the Parliament.

The Prime Minister further said that one quarter of the 21st century has been completed and now the second quarter is beginning. Describing this as the beginning of a new era, he said that these coming 25 years are very important to achieve the goal of developed India by 2047. PM Modi said that this is the first budget of the second quarter of this century, which will play an important role in deciding the future direction of the country.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the budget for the 9th consecutive time
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is the first woman Finance Minister of the country, who is going to present the budget in Parliament for the 9th consecutive time. He described it as a proud moment in the parliamentary history of India and said that this achievement is historic in itself.
‘Big opportunity for youth and farmers’
Prime Minister Modi said that this agreement signed with 27 countries will bring big opportunities for the country’s youth, farmers, people associated with the manufacturing sector and service sector, who are willing to work in other countries. He said that he is confident that this agreement is a huge step towards a confident, competitive and productive India.
‘Identity is Reform-Perform-Transform’
PM Modi said that it is natural for the country to focus on the budget, but the identity of this government has always been reform, perform and transform. He said that now the country has moved forward very fast on the Reform Express. Expressing his gratitude to all the colleagues of the Parliament, the Prime Minister said that they too are playing a positive role in giving impetus to this Reform Express. Due to this cooperation, the pace of reforms is continuously increasing.
Schemes coming out of files and reaching people
PM Modi said that everyone believes that this government has paid special attention to last-mile delivery. The government’s effort is that the schemes should not be limited to files only, but should reach the lives of the people. He said that in the coming days, this tradition should be taken forward through next-generation reforms through Reform Express.
