If you are worried about your personal information or any image present on Google search, then a new tool has come for you. Google has recently announced this tool, which will simplify the process of removing your sensitive information from Google search. Google says that this tool will help users report objectionable content and control their information on search.
How to remove your sensitive information from Google search
To remove your sensitive information or images, go to the three-dot menu in front of the search results. After this, select the option of ‘Remove Result’ on the page that opens. Here Google will ask you the reason for removing the result. If you feel that any objectionable image or sensitive information of yours is being shown, then inform Google about it. After this you will submit your request. You will also be able to track this request by going to the Result About You section. The special thing is that in this update you can also report more than one image in one request. Earlier the user had to make separate requests for each link and image, but now this hassle is over.
What will happen after the request is approved?
Along with making this process easier, Google has also added new safeguards. When your removal request is approved, you will be able to enable a feature, after which the rest of the results in your name will also be filtered out in future. This update has been released especially in view of the increasing misuse of AI generated and deepfake content. This update has been rolled out in many countries including India.
The government has tightened the rules
The Government of India has tightened the rules in view of the increasing AI generated and deepfake content on social media. Now it has become mandatory to label such content. Also, if the user is uploading AI generated content then he will have to give information about it. Apart from this, now social media platforms will get only 3 hours time to remove objectionable content. The new rules will come into effect from February 20.
