Before the start of IPL 2026, Rishabh Pant has intensified his preparations. Lucknow Super Giants captain Pant has been seen training with former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh these days. A video of both of them training at the Cricket Club of India in Mumbai is becoming increasingly viral on social media.
In this video, Pant is seen batting in the nets, while Yuvraj Singh is standing nearby, watching him carefully and also giving advice from time to time. This video is very much discussed among the cricket fans and people are hoping that Pant’s performance can improve due to Yuvraj’s training.
Attempt to change technology
During training, Pant was also seen making some changes in his batting technique. Especially against left-arm bowlers, he adopted a slightly open stance. It is believed that this can give him more space and better angle to play shots in the off side. This change is an indication that Pant is trying to improve his batting before IPL 2026. His goal is to regain the same aggressive style for which he is known.
Had a disappointing performance last season
Actually, Pant’s performance in the last season was not as expected. He scored only 269 runs in the entire tournament, which was one of the lowest scores of his career in IPL. Although he did score a century at the end of the tournament, which improved his figures slightly, but overall his performance was considered ordinary.
The performance of Lucknow Super Giants under Pant’s captaincy was also not special. The team could not show consistency throughout the season and remained seventh in the points table.
Many players have taken training from Yuvraj
Yuvraj Singh is also known for training young players for the last few years. Many players who trained with him have performed brilliantly in T20 cricket. These include names like Shubhman Gill, Abhishek Sharma and Prabhsimran Singh. In such a situation, Pant would also be hoping that with Yuvraj’s advice and training, he would be able to regain his form. There is not much time left for the start of IPL 2026 and Pant will now be eyeing to make a great comeback. This time IPL is expected to start from March 28.
