Former Governor of Tamil Nadu RN Ravi has now become the Governor of West Bengal. Calcutta High Court Chief Justice Sujoy Paul administered the oath of office to him as Governor. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Assembly Speaker Biman Banerjee were present in this ceremony. RN Ravi’s appointment came after the sudden resignation of CV Anand Bose. He had resigned from his post on March 5.
RN Ravi has been made the Governor of Bengal at a time when there is political turmoil in the politics of Bengal. The Election Commission is going to announce the election dates in the state in the next few days. RN Ravi has replaced former governor CV Anand Bose, who recently resigned from his post. President Draupadi Murmu recently reshuffled several governors, under which Ravi has been sent from Tamil Nadu to West Bengal.

RN Ravi has long experience in administrative and security matters. He is a 1976 batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer and has held responsibilities in many important intelligence and security agencies. He also played an important role in national security matters and was the Deputy National Security Advisor of India for some time.
Ravi has been the Governor of Nagaland, Meghalaya
Before becoming the Governor of Bengal, Ravi had also been the Governor of Nagaland and Meghalaya. Apart from this, he played an important role as the representative of the Central Government in the Naga peace talks in North-East India. Considering his administrative experience, he is considered a strict and decisive officer. However, reactions have also emerged in the state politics regarding his appointment.
