China Robot School: China is now taking a new step in the field of robotics where humanoid robots are not being limited to mere appearances but are being prepared for real work. Special robot schools have been started in the country where these machines are being trained for areas like factories and logistics. Its objective is to use robots on a large scale in the future.
Training centers are being built rapidly
Robot training centers are being rapidly established in many provinces of China like Anhui, Zhejiang and Shandong. After the successful demonstration of humanoid technology in a big tech show recently, the work in this direction has intensified. At a center in Shandong, several robots are currently being taught basic tasks like lifting trays, folding clothes and removing items from shelves.
Special data needed for robot training
Training robots is more complex than simple AI models. While other AI systems learn by taking text or image data from the Internet, humanoid robots have to learn by working in the real world. The data collected for these includes things like movement of body joints, speed, rotation, ability to see, touch and pressure.
To meet this need, China has built more than 40 government-supported data centers, many of which are already working. In these centres, humans and robots work together to do the same work repeatedly so that data of every small action can be recorded.
Training being given in real environment
Some companies have created a setup completely similar to the real environment to train robots. For example, models of places like car factory, smart home and elderly care have been created in one centre. Here robots are taught to work in different situations.
Some robots have been equipped with virtual reality and motion capture technology so that they can better learn tasks like lifting boxes, sorting goods and packing. Every year lakhs of data entries are prepared in these centers and the success rate of the robots is also said to be very high.
Entry into industries will happen soon
Experts believe that technology cannot be fully developed until robots are trained in real conditions. In China, with the help of the government, preparations are now being made to try robots directly in the industry. In the coming times, these humanoid robots will first be used in automobile factories and logistics sectors where most of the work is repetitive. This will reduce the costs of companies and the speed of work will also increase.

Robotics companies have also started getting financial benefits from these training centres. Humanoid robots are being sold on a large scale in many places, due to which rapid growth is being seen in this sector. This step of China shows that in the coming times, robots are not just a demonstration of technology but are going to become an important part of everyday tasks.
