Russia condemned the attack on the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant located on Iran’s Persian Gulf coast. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Monday (23 March 2026) that the American-Israeli attacks near the Bushehr nuclear plant are extremely dangerous. The Kremlin said that Russia has shared concerns related to this attack with America.
Attacks on nuclear facilities dangerous: Russia
Dmitry Peskov said, ‘We believe that attacks on nuclear facilities can be very dangerous. Russia has repeatedly expressed its concern while adopting a very responsible stance on this issue. Kremlin spokesperson said that the ongoing war in Iran should have been diverted towards a political and diplomatic solution. He said, ‘This is the only solution that can help calm the terrible tense situation that has arisen in this region.’
Russia had also termed the threat of targeting the Bushehr nuclear power plant as wrong. Peskov said that the US-Israeli attacks near the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant in Iran are very dangerous and Russia has conveyed its message to the US, adding that the consequences of such attacks can be catastrophic and irreparable.
US attacked Natanz nuclear complex
Recently, Iran’s Natanz nuclear complex was also attacked. Even then, Russia had condemned this attack and called it a flagrant violation of international law. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) also expressed concern and said that there was no radioactive leak, but precautions should be taken.
This was the second attack on Natanz after the conflict started. This plant was also targeted on March 2. This is the largest nuclear center of Iran, where uranium enrichment is done. The special thing about this center in Isfahan is that a large part of it is built underground. After the attack on March 2, on March 3, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) had confirmed that there was some damage to the buildings near the entrance to Iran’s Natanz Nuclear Facility.
