A big program under Congress’s ‘Manrega Bachao Abhiyan’ is being organized at Jawahar Bhawan in Delhi on Thursday (January 22, 2026). For the first time in this program, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi will share the stage together. Through this program, Congress will decide the direction and strategy of the ongoing movement regarding MNREGA in the entire country.

MNREGA workers and local social workers from 25 states of the country will participate in this program. The special thing is that the workers from different states will bring soil from their respective areas along with them, through which a sapling will be planted in the Jawahar Bhawan complex. It is being seen as a symbol of MNREGA and the struggle of the workers.

National President of Creative Congress Sandeep Dixit said that Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi will be present in this program to be held on January 22. He said that this program will give a new direction to the nationwide movement of Congress to save MNREGA.

Congress alleges that the present government is trying to weaken public welfare schemes like MNREGA. The party claims that MNREGA is the main means of dignity and livelihood for crores of poor and labor families.

There will also be a detailed discussion in the program on how the name and form of MNREGA was changed, what is the intention behind it and how to intensify the movement further. During the meeting, the strategy of the movement, public relations campaign and roadmap of upcoming programs will also be decided.
