The Indian stock market was expected to have a sluggish start on Tuesday, December 30 due to weak signals from global markets. Sensex and Nifty 50 were expected to open almost flat or with a slight decline, as trading in the market was going to be thin.
The initial indications of Gift Nifty were also indicating that the market would have a slow start. GIFT Nifty was trading at around 25,936, down 29 points or 0.11% from its previous closing price.
