American stock markets closed strongly on Wednesday. Investors welcomed the framework of the Greenland deal and were relieved by the postponement of new US tariffs on European countries. The Dow Jones gained 588.64 points, or 1.21%, at 49,077.23. The S&P 500 rose 78.76 points, or 1.16%, to 6,875.62. The Nasdaq Composite closed at 23,224.83, up 270.50 points or 1.18%.
