Earlier, Pakistan Home Minister and PCB Chief Mohsin Naqvi had informed Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif about the meeting held with ICC officials in Lahore. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Aminul Islam also attended the meeting.
“Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has been formally briefed by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi about the outcome of the high-level discussions held between the PCB, International Cricket Council (ICC) representatives and Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB),” it posted on the official social media handle of the Pakistan government.
The social media post said, “As a result of multi-party discussions, keeping in mind the request of friendly countries, the Government of Pakistan has given permission to the Pakistan cricket team to play in the ICC T20 World Cup on 15th February.”
An ICC delegation met with PCB Chief Mohsin Naqvi in ​​Lahore on Sunday (February 8), in which Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Aminul Islam also participated. ICC Vice President Imran Khawaja was appointed arbitrator in this case. All three together tried to find a solution, after which the long standing dispute came to an end.
