Sameera reacted to the beauty standards of the industry
Apart from this, she reacted to the beauty standards of the industry. She said, ‘Being an actor and a woman, I initially thought that I had to be fair. For some strange reason, everyone applied make-up to make me fair. So I had to apply makeup on my body too and it used to bother me. I was made to feel like I was not slim enough. I am a tall girl, so I was made to feel that I was tall and big. All these things stayed with me in the beginning. For years, my narrative as an actor was always about size. Whereas it should have been about talent and acting. Now when I look back, I don’t even know why I allowed this to happen. But this was the norm of the industry.
