RS Prasanna directorial and Aamir Khan starrer Sitare Zameen Par was first released in theaters and it took almost nine months to debut on OTT. This film is a spiritual successor to Aamir’s famous 2007 film Taare Zameen Par and is once again based on subjects like empathy, individuality and seeing the world from a different perspective. When and where is Sitare Zameen Par releasing on OTT?
After months of wait, Sitaray Zameen Par is finally going to arrive on a streaming platform. Interestingly, at the time of the film’s theatrical release, Aamir had initially said that it would not be released on the OTT platform. Instead, the film was later made available on YouTube through a pay-per-view model for viewers in India and several international markets. But finally this sports drama starring Aamir Khan will soon premiere on Sony Liv.
The film’s OTT release was announced through SonyLIV’s official Instagram page, where the platform shared the trailer along with details about the upcoming premiere. It is written along with it, “1 Tingu basketball coach, 10 Toofani stars and their journey, Sitare Zameen Par Sabka Apna Apna Normal, will soon be streaming on Sony Liv.” However, its streaming date has not been announced yet.
What is the story of Sitare Zameen Par?
The film traces the journey of Gulshan Arora, once a successful basketball coach, played by Aamir Khan. After a professional setback, he is sentenced to community service and assigned to coach a team of young disabled basketball players. Initially hesitant about the responsibility, Gulshan gradually develops a deep bond with the players and begins to understand their unique perspectives and strengths. As the team prepares for an important tournament, the coach realizes that the players have as much to teach him about life as they do about basketball.
