Only this franchise had bid in the auction to buy this Indian wicketkeeper batsman.

Even before the auction, Manchester Super Giants had directly signed Australia’s legendary batsman Meg Lanning along with Smriti Mandhana to their team, while England’s spinner Sophie Ecclestone was retained by the franchise. Meanwhile, Deepti Sharma was added to their team by Sunrisers Leeds for 27,500 pounds (about 34 lakhs). The franchise started bidding to take this experienced Indian all-rounder and did not have to compete with anyone else. However, no one bought India’s Yastika Bhatia and Shri Charani in the draft.

What is the budget of ‘The Hundred’ tournament?

Each women’s franchise of The Hundred tournament had a budget of £880,000. Birmingham Phoenix, London Spirit, Southern Brave and Trent Rockets had £520,000 left before the draft, while Manchester Supergiants, MI London, Sunrisers Leeds and Welsh Fire had a budget of £570,000 before the auction took place.
