Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, while addressing the public at Musi Invites program, strongly supported the Musi River Rejuvenation Project. He said that some people are spreading rumors deliberately and based on incomplete information, which is creating confusion and anxiety among the public. Revanth Reddy, as Chief Minister, presented the truth before the people through the platform.
History reminded about Musi river revitalization project
Reminding the history, Revanth Reddy said that after the terrible flood of 1908, the Nizam had constructed Himayat Sagar and Osman Sagar reservoirs on the advice of engineer Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya. These reservoirs protected Hyderabad from floods for 100 years and fulfilled the water needs of the city. He raised the question that should we just leave this city with such a glorious heritage neglected? Today the Musi river has become poisonous due to pollution and the people of Nalgonda district are paying the biggest price for it.
CM asked questions to the people opposing the project?
The Chief Minister directly asked the people opposing the project that those who want to stop this development, can they themselves live on the banks of Musi for three months? He clarified that this project is not to snatch anyone’s property, but for a better future for the coming generations. This will provide basic facilities to the poor, blue collar employment, tourism development and night economy. The government is working on a plan to build houses along with schools and other facilities for the rehabilitation of the displaced people.
Chief Minister’s appeal to the opposition
Revanth Reddy said emotionally that the ashes of Mahatma Gandhi were immersed at the confluence of Musi and Isa rivers. Will we allow such a historical Bapu Ghat to get destroyed like this? He made a polite appeal to the opposition to give suggestions if there is any mistake, but not to obstruct the development. Museum revival will not only make Hyderabad a beautiful city but will also become the development engine of the entire state.
