The scene seen on the road in Kushaiguda area of Telangana capital Hyderabad at around 8 pm on Monday last week (February 9, 2026) left the eyewitnesses shivering. A speeding Bolero not only hit a car, but also tried to crush a man when he protested and dragged him on the front bumper of the car and made him walk to death for about a kilometer.
In this horrific incident, 45-year-old M. Satish has been seriously injured, his leg fractured and deep wounds on the lower parts of the body. Police have arrested both the accused in this case, Uppari Mahesh (23) and Angandula Tarun (22) and sent them to jail.
How did the accused carry out the entire incident??
The incident started near Mallapur X Road. The victim P. Raju along with his colleagues Satish and Vijay Kumar were returning to Rampally after finishing work in their MG Windsor car. Then a Bolero (TS09 FP 0094) coming from behind hit his car hard. The collision was so severe that Raju’s car was completely damaged. Instead of stopping, the accused started running away, after which Raju chased them and surrounded the Bolero near NTR Pratima signal located in HB Colony.
After this, as soon as Satish stood in front of the Bolero to interrogate the accused, driver Uppari Mahesh increased the speed of the car. To save his life, Satish held tightly to the bonnet and bumper. According to eyewitnesses, instead of stopping the accused youth after seeing Satish hanging, they were laughing and driving the car in a zig-zag motion on the road, so that he would fall down. After being dragged for about 700 meters to one kilometre, when Satish lost his grip, the wheel of the Bolero moved ahead, crushing his leg.
People caught the accused, thrashed them and handed them over to the police.
Meanwhile, some local people chased the accused and caught them. The angry mob thrashed both the accused and later handed them over to the Kushaiguda police. Investigation has revealed that two challans for dangerous driving and overspeeding were already pending on this Bolero. Satish is currently fighting a battle between life and death in a private hospital. Police have registered a case under sections of Attempt to Murder and hit-and-run and have seized the vehicle.
