What is passkey?
When a public key and a private key are combined, they together create a passkey, which unlocks your account. If you look at the way it works, your unique public key is stored on websites and apps, while your private key is stored in your password manager on your device or in iCloud Keychain if you are an Apple user. After this, when your device authenticates your identity, when your private and public key together unlock the account.
