Stock Market Crash: There was a huge decline in the stock market on Wednesday. As soon as the market opened, Sensex and Nifty fell by about 2 percent. The Sensex fell more than 1,700 points to 78,443.20, its lowest level since April 17 last year. Nifty 50 slipped nearly 500 points to 24,305.40 and went below 24,400 for the first time in seven months. Due to this sharp fall, the total market cap of BSE listed companies declined by about Rs 7.93 lakh crore to about Rs 449 lakh crore.
