Stock Market Today: Indian shares closed with a rise on Wednesday after huge fluctuations. After opening in the red, there was a lot of movement in the market throughout the day and at the end of the day it closed with a rise. The Sensex closed at 83,734.25 points, up 283.29 points or 0.34 per cent. At the same time, Nifty also closed at 25,819.35 points with a rise of 93.95 points or 0.37 percent.

How was the market condition?
Benchmark indices Nifty and Sensex were seen trading in the green and registered gains for the third consecutive session on Wednesday. The rise in metal and PSU stocks supported the market. However, sharp selling in IT stocks after Tuesday’s respite rally limited the market’s gains.
Sectoral performance remained mixed, reflecting cautious investor sentiment. There was heavy pressure on IT and media stocks, which affected the overall market momentum. Whereas metal, PSU bank and FMCG shares provided selective support.
