That means till now a total of 9 teams have got entry for World Cup 2028 on the basis of their performance in T20 World Cup 2026.
Other teams will get entry based on ranking
The fate of the remaining three teams will be decided on the basis of ICC T20 rankings. The last date for qualifying for these teams has been fixed as March 9. At present, according to the ranking, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Ireland are leading in this race. If there is no change in the current ranking, then the places of these three teams are considered almost certain. However, the official announcement will be made only on March 9.
Bangladesh may return
It is noteworthy that Bangladesh team was excluded from playing in T20 World Cup 2026 due to controversies. However, this time his return in the 2028 World Cup is considered certain. The Scottish team, which joined in their place in 2026, may now have to participate in the regional qualifier round.
