Pakistan cricket team qualified for Super-8 by defeating Namibia in T20 World Cup, after which Shadab Khan, who came in the press conference, created a ruckus with his statement. He had said, “Former cricketers have their own opinions, they were legends, but they too could not do what we did. We even defeated Team India in the World Cup. Criticism is a part of the history of cricket.” Pakistan Cricket Board has expressed displeasure with Shadab’s statements for making fun of old players.

IANS quoted Telecom Asia Sport as saying that PCB has expressed displeasure with Shadab’s statements and advised him to control his language.
Shadab gave this statement after Pakistan’s victory against Namibia. PCB, through the team manager, gave a message to the all-rounder that he should not use such language for the former great players of Pakistan.
Shadab Khan reprimanded
According to the report, sources told Telecom Asia Sports, “Naveed Cheema had called Shadab to tell him that he had gone out of his way in the press conference. He should know that all the former players, including his father-in-law Saqlain Mushtaq, are respectable and great players. Shadab should respect the former players of Pakistan and should not use such language.”
According to the report, PCB has asked Cheema to tell other players to control their language and not cross their limits in press conferences or any other interviews.
