The 10th edition of the T20 World Cup (T20 World Cup 2026) started with 20 teams, out of which the journey of 12 teams has ended. The hopes of winning the title are alive for 8 teams, the Super-8 round between them is going to start from Saturday, 21st February. India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, England, West Indies, New Zealand and South Africa will play in this round. Know its complete format, how the semi-finalist teams will be decided.
In the T20 World Cup 2026 group stage, 3 matches were being played per day, but this is not the case in the Super-8 round. On most days only one match will be played daily, 2 matches will be played 3 times per day. Super-8 will start with New Zealand vs Pakistan match and end with India vs West Indies match.
T20 World Cup 2026 Super-8 format
All the teams of Super-8 round have been divided into 2 groups. Each team will play 3-3 matches, they will have to play one match each against all the teams of their group. Like it happened in the league stage. After all the matches are over, the top-2 teams of both the groups will be semi-finalists and the journey of the third and fourth placed teams will end.
- Group 1: India, South Africa, West Indies, Zimbabwe
- Group 2: England, New Zealand, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
The top team of Group 1 will play the second placed team of Group 2 in the semi-finals. The second semi-final will be between the second placed team of Group 1 and the top team of Group 2. If Pakistan reaches the semi-finals or finals, that match will also be held in Sri Lanka.
