Tamil Nadu Crime News: In Villupuram, Tamil Nadu, a 30-year-old youth named Sakthivel was accused of sexually assaulting a 17-year-old minor girl in Chennai in the year 2022 by luring her with seductive words and love. The girl’s parents lodged a complaint at Thirumangalam police station. The police have registered a case under the ‘POCSO’ law and arrested Shaktivel and sent him to jail.
The accused was caught despite absconding
After being released on bail, Shakthivel did not appear in the hearing and absconded. The court issued a warrant. In December, the police under the leadership of Inspector Bharathi of Thirumangalam Women’s Police arrested Sakthivel from Villupuram and sent her back to jail.
During the hearing in the Tiruvallur District POCSO Special Court, the judge found that Sakthivel had exploited the minor by deceiving him. The court sentenced Shakthivel to life imprisonment and ordered a fine of Rs 65,000.
Accused of molestation at bus stop arrested
The 22-year-old girl from Tiruvarur district, a resident of Keelpakkam area and working in a private IT company, was returning to Chennai after a holiday. She was waiting for the bus at Dasprakash bus stop located at Purasaivakkam, Raja Annamalai Road. During this time, a person passing by molested her and ran away.
Based on the description given by the girl, the patrolling police chased and caught the accused. Investigation revealed that the accused is 36-year-old Pramod Yadav from Jharkhand, who works in a sweet shop in Egmore. He was sent to jail after interrogation.
