Suryanarayanan, son of 48-year-old Shanthi, resident of Periyakulam Thamaraikulam in Theni district, was looking for a government job after completing his BE. Meanwhile in 2021, Shanthi meets Shanmugasundaram and his wife Senbagavalli, who works as a PRO in Theni District Collectorate Office. At that time, Shanmugasundaram said that he knew high officials and politicians and if money was given, he could even get a government job for your son.
The couple recovered a total of Rs 74 lakh
Believing this, Shanthi paid Rs 50 lakh to Shanmugasundaram and his wife in various installments over the period from 09.09.2021 to 10.11.2021. Similarly, by promising them a job, they took Rs 4 lakh from Selvathambi, Rs 4 lakh from Pavitra, Rs 12 lakh from Palanikumar and Rs 4 lakh from Muthupandi, in total the couple collected Rs 74 lakh. After not getting a job for a long time even after paying the money, when she asked Shanmugasundaram about it, Shanthi realized that she had been duped, and immediately complained to the Theni District Superintendent of Police.
Case registered under several sections
On his orders, Theni District Crime Branch police has registered a case against Shanmugasundaram and his wife Senbagavalli under 3 sections including breach of trust. Police are searching for the absconding couple. It is noteworthy that Shanmugasundaram is currently working as PRO in Salem Transport Corporation.
