Death occurred shortly after her husband’s death
85-year-old Rangaraja and his 75-year-old wife Maragatham were residents of Nadakaveri Allur Arasakudi near Thiruvaiyaru in Thanjavur district. They were married in 1972. It has been 53 years of marriage. He had three sons. Ramakrishnan, Gopalakrishnan and Tulsiraman. Of these, Ramakrishnan has already passed away. Meanwhile, Rangraj died at 5 am yesterday due to old age. Meanwhile his wife Maragatham, who was in shock because of her love for her husband, died at 2 pm. Both of them, who traveled together for 53 years of life, met together in death, just a few hours apart.

After this, the bodies of both were cremated together by keeping them next to each other in the cremation ground. The death of a devoted couple on the same day has left Araskudi villagers in deep grief. Expressing grief, people said that due to living a dedicated life towards each other, wife Maragatham also died within a few hours, which was the sorrow of her husband’s death. He said that this is true love, affection and love. He said that this is a testament to the wonderful life he lived.
