Tamil Nadu News: A painful road accident has occurred in Madurai district of Tamil Nadu. Three passengers were killed and 15 seriously injured in a collision between two omni buses on the national highway near Kottampatti. This incident spread chaos and sensation in the entire area.

According to the information, this accident happened on Pallapatti Highway near Kottampatti. An omni bus parked on the roadside was hit by another omni bus coming from behind at high speed. The collision was so strong that the bus collided with an electric pole on the roadside. There were many passengers in the bus at the time of the accident.

Three passengers died on the spot

In this tragic accident, Kanak Ranjitam (65 years), Sudarshan (23 years) and a female passenger died on the spot. 15 passengers injured in the accident have been immediately admitted to government hospitals in Melur and Madurai for treatment. The condition of many injured is said to be serious.

As soon as information about the incident was received, the police team led by Melur DSP Shivakumar reached the spot. Police have sent the bodies for post-mortem and have started investigating the entire matter. Eyewitnesses are being interrogated to find out the cause of the accident.

Concern over increasing road accidents

After this accident, questions have been raised regarding road safety. Social worker Pa. Stalin said that road accidents are happening continuously on Madurai-Trichy National Highway, especially between Melur and Kottampatti. He has demanded from the Highway Department to improve roads and increase safety measures.

Social workers say that to prevent accidents, it is very important to improve the road infrastructure as well as make people aware of following traffic rules, so that such painful incidents can be avoided in future.
