55 year old Srinivasan, resident of Arumbakkam area, has a wife named Amutha. On the evening of 8th, a woman’s screams were heard from Srinivasan’s house. Apart from this, smoke was also coming from inside the house. Immediately the people living near Srinivasan’s house informed the police control room and Srinivasan.

After this Srinivasan reached the spot. Apart from this, police also came there and investigated. Upon entering Srinivasan’s house with the help of the public, Amutha was found charred to death.

Who killed the woman and set her on fire?

Srinivasan was shocked to see the body and started crying. Later, the police took possession of Amutha’s body and sent it to Kilpakkam Government Hospital for post-mortem. The doctors who conducted the post-mortem of Amutha’s body told the police that someone had stabbed him to death.

Therefore, after registering a case of murder, the police investigated who killed Amutha and set the fire. The suspicious eyes of the police fell on Shantakumar, a youth living in Annanagar, Chennai. It was also revealed that he used to work at Srinivasan’s tea shop. Shocking information came to light when Srinivasan was interrogated about Amutha’s murder.

First looted jewels, then murdered

On the afternoon of the incident, Srinivasan had gone home from the shop to have dinner. Amutha was at the shop at that time. After Srinivasan came to the shop, Amutha went home in the evening. After that Shantkumar also went out. When Amutha was at home, Shantakumar came there and argued with Amutha.

He then robbed Amutha of her jewellery, stabbed her to death and set her on fire. We have recovered Amutha’s gold jewelery from Shantakumar. Shantakumar says that he killed Amutha for the jewellery. We are investigating it. After investigation, legal action will be taken against Shantakumar.
