Team India Created Amazing World Record Against Zimbabwe: In the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, Team India has kept its hopes of semi-finals alive by defeating Zimbabwe in its second Super-8 match. In the match played at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, explosive innings were seen by all the Indian batsmen, on the basis of which Team India put the second highest score on the board in the history of this tournament. India scored 256 runs at the loss of 4 wickets. During the first innings, an amazing record was also registered in the name of Team India, which was not seen till now in the T20 World Cup.

Six players of Team India came to bat against Zimbabwe and all the batsmen scored more than 20 runs at a strike rate of 150+. This is the first time in the history of this tournament that 6 batsmen of a team have scored more than 20 runs in an innings and their strike rate has been above 150. Such a feat had never happened before in the ICC T20 World Cup tournament that started in 2007.

Team India’s stormy batting against Zimbabwe

Team India’s opening pair Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson, who came to bat first after losing the toss, gave a fast start to India. Sanju started the Indian innings by hitting a six in the very first over. Samson was out after scoring 24 runs in 15 balls. During this period his strike rate was 160. After this, Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan made a brilliant partnership of 72 runs for the second wicket. Ishaan scored 38 runs at a strike rate of 158.33, while Abhishek hit 4 fours and as many sixes in his innings of 55 runs with a strike rate of 183.33.

Captain Suryakumar Yadav also batted in a stormy style and scored 33 runs in 13 balls at a strike rate of 253. He hit three fours and two sixes in his innings. Hardik Pandya and Tilak Verma thrashed Zimbabwe’s bowlers in the last overs, taking India to a huge score of 256 runs. Where Hardik scored unbeaten 50 runs with the help of two fours and four sixes in 23 balls, in which his strike rate was 217.39.

At the same time, Tilak scored 44 unbeaten runs with 3 fours and 4 sixes in 16 balls and his strike rate was 275.
