Voting for urban bodies is going on in Telangana today. Voters from 7 Municipal Corporations and 116 Municipal Committees across the state are participating enthusiastically in the voting process which was started at 7 am today by the State Election Commission (SEC). The process is ongoing in 412 divisions and 2,569 wards and will continue till 5 pm. There are long queues of people outside the polling stations.
A lot of enthusiasm is being seen among the voters regarding voting. As early as 7 in the morning, a large crowd of women and elderly people gathered at many polling stations. People of every section, whether young or old, have come out to choose the future of their city by exercising their franchise. During this period, security arrangements have been kept tight so that no disturbance can happen. Special security has also been provided on the roads leading to polling stations.
Elections are very important for Telangana politics
This election is considered very important for the politics of Telangana. In the recent past, there were disputes between the state government and the Election Commission on many issues regarding the corporation and municipal elections, but ultimately this election is being held to strengthen democracy. These elections are also important because it is also like a semi-final for the upcoming assembly elections, due to which the parties get to know the ground reality.

Voting will end at 5 pm and the counting of votes will begin on February 13. This decision of the people of Telangana will decide the direction of urban development and administration in the future.
