Telegram: Telegram has given a big surprise to its Android users. The company has made such changes in the design of the app that it feels different at first glance. The new interface now mirrors the iOS version, including transparent panels, smoother animations and a brand new bottom navigation bar. This is considered to be the biggest visual update of Telegram for Android in the last few years.
Preparations were going on for a long time
This change has not come suddenly. Telegram was working on the look of the Android app for a long time. Small design changes started at the end of the year 2025 and now with the latest version 12.4.0, this new look has been completely revealed. As soon as the update is available on Google Play, users will get to see a cleaner, modern and premium interface of the app. This design is inspired by the same iOS update in which translucent effect and light blur were used.
Side menu gone, navigation bar down
The biggest change in this update has been made in the navigation system. Now the old hamburger side menu has been removed. In its place, a bottom navigation bar with four tabs is provided at the bottom of the screen. Through this, you can quickly go between Chats, Contacts, Settings and Profile without scrolling up. This iOS-like system makes the app faster and easier to use, although it may take some time for old Android users to get used to it.
Changed location of menu options
With the new design, the location of some features has also been changed. Now the option to create a new group will be available in the three-dot menu on the top right side of the Chats screen. Options like Dark Mode, Saved Messages have also been shifted here. It may take a little time to find things at first, but overall the interface seems cleaner and less cluttered than before.
Liquid Glass design enhances premium feel
The Liquid Glass design stands out especially in light mode. The transparent panel and soft blur effect give a high-end look to the app. It can be clearly seen that Telegram is now trying to provide the same experience on both Android and iOS platforms.
Not just looks, features also became smart
This update is not limited to design only. Telegram is also continuously adding AI features. Now AI generated summary features are available for long channel posts and Instant View articles so that the main point of the content can be understood without much scrolling.
