New AI-powered experience will be available in status editor
Some beta users of iOS have started seeing the new image editing interface of WhatsApp. Along with the common filters available till now, advanced tools powered by Meta AI are also being included in it. With their help, users will be able to change their photos into a completely new look and there will be no need for any third-party app for this.
Amazing AI Styles and ‘Redo’ feature
Many unique visual styles can be seen in the new status editor such as 3D, comic book, anime, painting, kawaii, clay, felt, classical and video game themes. The special thing is that these will not be ordinary filters, rather AI will recreate the entire photo in the chosen style, which will make the image look more natural and professional.
If you don’t like the result the first time, the image can be re-generated in the same style with the help of the ‘Redo’ button. That means, without editing again from the beginning, a new version will be available in a single click. At present, the interface looks slightly different in the test versions of iOS and Android, which clearly shows that the company is still working on improving it.
Advanced editing and animation facilities
Meta AI is not limited to just changing the style. Through this, unwanted objects can be removed from the photo or new elements can be added. By making changes in any particular part, AI will automatically balance the rest of the background so that the picture does not look strange.
Apart from this, the mood or scene of the photo can be changed through text prompt. Not only this, the status can be made more attractive by converting still photos into small animations.
When will all users get this feature?
Currently, this AI-powered status editing feature is available to select beta users of iOS through TestFlight. Some people have talked about seeing it in the stable version also. The company is rolling it out gradually and in different areas, so it may take some time to reach all the users.
