‘The Prime Minister is both bowed down and tired’, Congress took a jibe when PM Modi gave an interview regarding the trade deal with the US.

The country’s main opposition party Congress has launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent interview on the trade agreement between India and America. The party said that the Prime Minister knows that this year’s Union Budget has been a complete disappointment and all the signs of fatigue are clearly visible in the government’s policies.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday (February 15, 2026) gave an interview to news agency PTI regarding the country’s Union Budget 2026 and the trade deal between India and America. After PM Modi’s interview, Congress’ communication department general secretary and MP Jairam Ramesh shared a post on social media platform X, taking a dig at him.

Budget received negative response in markets: Jairam

Jairam Ramesh said that the Union Budget has received negative response from the markets and it has not seen any significant positive impact on investors. For this reason, about two weeks after the presentation of the budget and a few days after its strong criticism by the opposition in Parliament, the Prime Minister had to give an interview in this regard.

He said that as always, the Prime Minister’s statements are limited to impressive looking one-liners, which have little to no connection with the ground reality.
