‘The Kerala Story 2’ is releasing in theaters on 27th February. Before that, rumors had spread about this controversial film that the makers had deleted its teaser. The makers have now clarified that the teaser of their upcoming film is not being deleted from the social media platform. On Tuesday, Sunshine Pictures released an official statement and termed all such reports as “false and baseless”.

The official statement issued by the makers reads, “Sunshine Pictures would like to clearly clarify that the news currently doing the rounds about the removal of the teaser of ‘The Kerala Story 2 – Goes Beyond’ is completely false, baseless and misleading. The matter is currently in the court. No court has passed any decision or order to remove any content. We have not deleted any material. Or not removed.”
The statement further said, both the teaser and trailer of ‘The Kerala Story 2 – Goes Beyond’ will be available on all our official platforms. We strongly urge media houses, digital platforms and individuals to refrain from spreading unverified information and speculative reports, such misinformation only creates unnecessary confusion.”

Let us tell you that ‘‘The Kerala Story 2’ has been facing protests ever since the release of its teaser, even a PIL has been filed against the film, claiming that its release could disturb communal harmony, although the matter is still in the court. Recently, producer Vipul Amritlal Shah had reacted to the protests the film has been receiving.
“We are not after Kerala. Kerala is God’s country… We want this evil to end from that state as soon as possible,” Shah was quoted as saying by NDTV. He further said, “Some people maligned the first film, saying that the figure of 32,000 was false. We made a video on this figure on YouTube, which is available now. We have added names and shown the figures. The government may have more figures than us, but we have never heard of any strict action being taken since the release of the film.”
It is noteworthy that recently, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had also criticized the film. At present, ‘‘The Kerala Story 2’ will be released in theaters on February 27, 2026.
