‘There was no discussion with America, we are not even ready’, Iranian Security Council Secretary said on Trump’s claims

Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani, says that he is not having any talks with America regarding establishing peace. His statement has been published in local media agency Tasneem.

Regarding reports in Western media claiming Tehran requested talks with Washington, Larijani said Iran will not hold any talks with the US. On Monday (March 2, 2026) morning, the Wall Street Journal claimed that Larijani had sent a plan to the Omani side to resume talks with the US.

According to IANS report, he also said on social media platform X that US President Trump’s confusion has thrown the Middle East into chaos. The new round of talks held on Thursday ended on a very positive note for both sides, but on Saturday, America and Israel took joint action and conducted airstrikes on many cities of the country including Tehran. Both the countries had termed it an attack in favor of the people and humanity of Iran.

Indirect nuclear talks were going on in Geneva between Tehran and Washington under the mediation of Oman. In an interview with Atlantic magazine, US President Donald Trump said on Sunday that Iran’s new leadership wants to talk to him and he has agreed. In an interview from his home in Florida, Trump said, ‘They want to talk, and I have agreed to talk, so I will talk to them. They should have done this earlier. They should have given something which was very practical and easy. He left too late.

According to Tasnim News Agency, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, several military commanders and hundreds of civilians were killed in the US-Israeli attack. After this, Iran has started ‘Operation True Promise 4’, under which large-scale missile and drone attacks are being carried out on Israeli targets and US bases in the Gulf area.
