Tilak Verma’s big statement before the match against Pakistan in T20 World Cup, read what he said on Pakistan’s U-turn

There was uncertainty for several days regarding the match between India and Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2026. Earlier, Pakistan’s side had shown a different attitude regarding this match, but now the picture is clear. Both the teams will face each other in Colombo on 15th February.

Amidst this entire incident, Indian batsman Tilak Verma has also given his opinion. He said that the players are focused only on cricket and they are fully prepared for this big match. Tilak made it clear that as soon as the team got the confirmation of the match, everyone turned their preparations in the same direction.

Full focus is on preparation

Talking to the media before the match against Namibia, Tilak said that the team had come to know a day before that there would be an India-Pakistan match. Since then the players are in full match playing mode. He said that all the players are mentally prepared and every team is being monitored.

According to Tilak, the team management is studying the strengths and weaknesses of the bowlers and batsmen of the opposing team with the help of video analysis and technology. What will be the mood of the pitch, which bowler to target and which shots to use, all these aspects are being worked out in detail.

Pakistan may get domestic advantage

Indian team’s assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate also admitted that the Pakistan team has been staying in Sri Lanka for some time, due to which they can have a better understanding of the local conditions. However, the Indian team is seeing it as a challenge.

Tilak also clearly said that the team is currently focusing on each match. First the team has to play a match against Namibia and then Pakistan. He believes that focus and preparation are the biggest weapons to move ahead in the tournament.
