Top 10 Companies MCap: Last week, the total market valuation of top-10 domestic companies declined by Rs 4.48 lakh crore. This coincided with a sharp decline in equities, with banking sector majors – State Bank of India and HDFC Bank – being the most affected.
Last week, the BSE benchmark Sensex fell 4,354.98 points or 5.51 per cent, and the NSE Nifty fell 1,299.35 points or 5.31 per cent. This was because rising crude oil prices increased inflationary pressures and concerns about global economic stability, especially amid increasing conflict in West Asia.
