The bell has rung for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League i.e. IPL 2026. The tournament will start from March 28. The first match of the season will be played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad. Before the start of the season, we will tell you about five players who have hit the most sixes in a season. No Indian player is included in this list.
1- Chris Gayle
Chris Gayle is at the top in this list. Gayle holds the record for hitting most sixes in a season. While playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2012, Gayle hit 59 sixes. This is the highest number of sixes hit by any batsman in a season so far. This record has been registered in Gayle’s name for 14 years.
2- Andre Russell
The second name in the list is Andre Russell. Russell hit 52 sixes while playing for Kolkata Knight Riders in the 2019 season. Let us tell you that KKR had released Russell after the 2025 season, after which the Caribbean all-rounder retired from the tournament.
3-Chris Gayle
Chris Gayle’s name is present in the list a total of three times. After hitting 59 sixes in 2012, Gayle hit 51 sixes while playing for RCB in the next season i.e. 2013. With this he is at third position in the list.
4- Jos Buttler
The 2022 season was a great one for English batsman Jos Buttler. While playing for Rajasthan, Butler had scored 863 runs in 17 innings of 17 matches this season. During this period, he hit 45 sixes, with which Butler became the fourth batsman to hit the most sixes in a single season of IPL.
5-Chris Gayle
Chris Gayle is also seen at fifth position in the list. Gayle was an amazing batsman while playing for RCB in 2011 also. He hit 44 sixes in the season.
