America and India on Friday (6 February 2026) released the framework of an interim trade agreement. With this agreement, work has been accelerated towards a large and permanent bilateral trade agreement between the two countries. Amidst the ongoing tension regarding tariffs in recent times, this step is being considered to strengthen the economic relations between the two countries.
The joint statement said that India and America will soon implement this framework and will work together to finalize the interim agreement.
