On April 2 last year, Trump had announced tariffs ranging from 10 to 50%, branding the move “Liberation Day.”

The court does not announce in advance which decisions it will deliver. Media reports, however, note that on opinion days, the US Supreme Court typically releases rulings around 10:00 am Eastern Time (ET), which is 8:30 pm IST.
Tariffs beyond presidential authority?
Trump’s tariffs were earlier challenged in courts, and lower federal courts, which have already ruled that many of the tariffs exceeded presidential authority under existing laws.
The courts ruled that the statute used by the Trump administration does not explicitly empower a president to impose broad import duties. This power has traditionally been reserved for Congress under the US Constitution.
