General Secretary of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) and four-time MLA Syed Ahmed Pasha Qadri has passed away at the age of 72. His demise has created a big void in Hyderabad politics. Qadri, who had a deep hold in the old city of Telangana, had strengthened the party by working with three generations of the Owaisi family. Asaduddin Owaisi and his brother Akbaruddin Owaisi condoled his demise.
Qadri was active in politics for four decades
Qadri, who has been active in city politics for almost four decades, started his political journey in 1986 as a councilor of Hyderabad Municipal Corporation. Qadri, who started from Dabeerpura ward, rose rapidly on the basis of his hard work and public service. He proved his popularity by winning the MLA elections from Charminar assembly constituency in 2004, 2009 and 2014 and again from Yakutpura in 2018.
Qadri was one of the most trusted associates of Owaisi brothers.
Known as the sentinel of generation and discipline of AIMIM’s organizational structure, Qadri was one of the most trusted aides of party president Barrister Asaduddin Owaisi and his brother Akbaruddin Owaisi. From the era of Chacha Jan Salahuddin Owaisi till now, he has faced every challenge of the party. After his death, tributes are being paid to him on social media, where people are calling him a true hardworking warrior working at the grassroots level.
Qadri’s death AIMIM got a shock
Qadri’s demise has dealt a big blow to AIMIM at a time when the party is busy strengthening its organization. He was a pillar of inspiration for many young leaders of the party. With his departure, Old City politics has lost one experienced face, who will always be remembered for his discipline and loyalty.
