Veteran filmmaker MM Baig passes away, dead body found in house, neighbors complained after foul smell

Veteran filmmaker MM Baig has passed away. He was 70 years old. Earlier this week he was found dead in his home. This news was given by his publicist Honey Javeri.

Honey Zaveri told PTI, ‘He was unwell for a long time. When he did not come out of the house for four-five days, the neighbors complained to the police about the foul smell coming from the house. When the police opened the door, Baig Saheb’s body was found. The police gave this information to his daughter. Later the body was taken to Cooper Hospital for post-mortem late at night. He was a very good person. I pray for the peace of his soul.

Let us tell you that MM Baig started his career as an assistant to J Om Prakash, Vimal Kumar and Rakesh Roshan. He was also associated with Govinda’s films like ‘Aadmi Toyon Hai’, ‘Jaisi Karni Vaisi Bharni’, ‘Karz Chukna Hai’ and Anil Kapoor starrer ‘Kala Bazaar’ and ‘Kishan Kanhaiya’.

Directed these films

As a director, he directed two films, including ‘Masoom Gawah’ (1990) starring Naseeruddin Shah and ‘Chhoti Bahu’ (1994) starring Shilpa Shirodkar.

Hrithik Roshan was given practices

Zaveri said, “Baig Sahab had very good relations with Rakesh Roshan Sahab. He had a good understanding of pronunciation, voice control and dialogue. That’s why he used to help Hrithik Roshan. He used to make Hrithik practice speaking dialogues. This was long before his first film “Kaho Na Pyaar Hai” came out.

Baig’s daughter Shahinda Baig, popularly known as Baby Guddu, was one of the popular child actors of Hindi cinema in the 1980s. His famous films include Rajesh Khanna and Smita Patil’s ‘Aakhir Kyun?’, Sridevi starrer ‘Nagina’, Anil Kapoor’s ‘Pyar Kiya Hai Pyar Karenge’ and Jeetendra and Sridevi’s ‘Aulad’.
