Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing the Vibrant Gujarat Summit on Sunday (January 11, 2026), said that India is moving rapidly towards becoming the third largest economy in the world. India is the fastest growing largest economy in the world. Today the whole world is looking towards India and from the figures coming in, it is clear that the world’s expectations from India are continuously increasing. While the economy of most of the countries is going down, India is progressing rapidly.
He said, ‘Today every global expert and global organizations are telling about the development of India. IMF is calling India the growth engine of the world. The world has this trust in India because there is instability all over the world, but India is stable. There is political stability in India.
I had said from the Red Fort – this is the time, this is the right time – PM Modi
Addressing the summit in Rajkot district of Gujarat, PM Modi said, ‘I had told from the Red Fort that this is the time, this is the right time. If we persist with hard work, we definitely achieve success. This is the right time for all the investors of the country and the world to take advantage of these possibilities and the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Summit is also giving the right message to all of you investors that this is the right time to invest in Saurashtra-Kutch.
He said, ‘From the data coming from all over the world about India, it is clear that the world’s expectations from India are increasing. India is the fastest growing large economy in the world. India is a country full of limitless possibilities. Inflation is under control in India. India is making new records in agricultural production. India is number one in milk production. India is number one in generic medicine production. The country that produces the most vaccines in the world is India.

Prime Minister Modi said, ‘India has progressed rapidly in the last 11 years. This journey of Vibrant Gujarat is progressing rapidly. I have been associated with the vision of Vibrant Gujarat Summit since day one. India has benefited a lot from this summit. Today this summit has become a strong platform in the world. After the beginning of 2026, this is my first visit to Gujarat and it is also pleasant because my journey of 2026 has started by bowing my head at the feet of Somnath Dada.
He said, ‘Now I am participating in this wonderful program in Rajkot, that is, development as well as heritage… this mantra is echoing everywhere. Whenever the stage of Vibrant Gujarat Summit is set, I do not see a summit, I see the journey of 21st century India, which started with a dream and today has reached an unbreakable belief. The journey of Vibrant Gujarat has become a benchmark in two decades. Till now there have been 10 editions and with each edition both the identity and role of this summit have been getting stronger.
The focus of Vibrant Gujarat is to change the performance of the state- PM Modi
PM Modi said, ‘In the last two decades, the Vibrant Gujarat Summit has continuously done something new, something special. Vibrant Gujarat Regional Summit has become an example of this. Its focus is to convert the untapped potential of different parts of Gujarat into performance. - Today India is the second largest mobile manufacturer in the world.

- We are the third largest aviation market.
- In terms of metro, we have joined the top 3 networks of the world.
He further said, ‘One fourth of the 21st century has passed. In the past years, India has made very rapid progress and Gujarat and all of you have played a big role in this.
