Google has rolled out the option to change email address. This means that now you will be able to update your old email address on Google and you will not need to create a new email address. You will be able to make the desired changes in your old email address only. Google had announced this option in December and now users will be able to easily update their old email accounts.
Old account will not be affected
Google said that updating or changing the email address will not affect the old account. Once the new Gmail address is setup, your old address will automatically start working with it. That means if someone sends you an email, it will arrive on both the new and old inbox. Similarly, the user will be able to log in to the old Gmail, YouTube, Maps, Drive and Google Play account with the new email. After this change, this question may arise in the mind of many users that what will happen to the old account after creating a new account? Google has also given a solution to this. It has been said by the company that your old address will remain with you and no other user will be able to claim it.
How to change email address?
If you want to change your old email address, first go to Google My Account page. After this, go to the left menu and click on Personal Information. Now select email and choose Google account email option. Click on Change Google Account Email here. Now type the new Gmail username or your new email address. If no one else has taken this email address then you will get it. After this, click on Change Email, select Yes and confirm. Finish the process as per the instructions on the screen. In this way you will be able to update your email address. Keep in mind that this feature has not been rolled out for all users yet. In such a situation, you may have to wait for a while.
