Watch: Gautam Gambhir reached Gurudwara amid controversy over taking trophy to the temple, stopped everyone from talking

Gautam Gambhir Offers Prayers at Gurudwara: Indian cricket team head coach Gautam Gambhir reached the Gurudwara. Gambhir reached the Gurudwara to pay obeisance at a time when the controversy over taking the 2026 T20 World Trophy to the temple is raging. Former Team India cricketer and Trinamool Congress MP Kirti Azad had raised questions on taking the trophy to the temple.

Let us tell you that after winning the T20 World Cup title, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav and coach Gautam Gambhir had reached Hanuman Temple located in Ahmedabad with the trophy. After this Kirti Azad spoke.

What did Kirti Azad say?

While sharing a post on social media platform X, Kirti Azad had said that we won the World Cup in 1983 under the captaincy of Kapil Dev. There were Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs and Christians in our team. We brought the trophy to our religious birthplace, our motherland India. After all, why is the trophy being dragged? Why not a mosque? Why not church? Why not Gurudwara? This team represents India – not Suryakumar Yadav or Jay Shah’s family!

There were reactions from many veterans after Kirti Azad’s post. Gambhir himself also reacted to his statement and said that you are insulting your players by making such statements. Apart from this, Gambhir had said that it is not right to answer this question.
