Addressing an election rally in Karimnagar just ahead of the Telangana municipal elections to be held on February 11, Union Minister Bundi Sanjay Kumar expressed sympathy with the Muslim community in a shocking statement on Friday evening. Bundy, usually known for his sharp statements, softened his tone and said that BJP is not against Muslims.
The Union Minister said that his competition is only with the ‘divisive politics’ of the MIM party and the anti-development attitude of the Owaisi family. He accused Congress of making a ‘secret deal’ with MIM regarding reservation.
‘Attack on the rights of Dalits’
In his speech, Bundy Sanjay asked an important question while referring to the schemes of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that the ration rice that Modi ji is giving is only for Hindus? He said that rice, toilets and roads are for all, there is no discrimination. Attacking Congress, he said that giving the post of Karimnagar Mayor to MIM is an attack on the rights of Dalits. This statement has come at a time when this ‘deal’ of Congress is being criticized on online news portals and social media.
This is an important turning point in Telangana politics. In an attempt to breach the MIM fort in Hyderabad’s Old City, Bundy said that the streets there are still wretched with filth. He claimed that the Owaisi family has only done good for itself in the name of development and now the Muslim community has understood this deception. This situation is not like before when people used to vote out of fear or greed.
Appeal to vote in favor of BJP
Sanjay Kumar started his speech with the mantra of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ and finally appealed to the public to vote in favor of BJP on 11 February. He said that this election is not just about electing a councilor, but an issue of development and respect. He expressed confidence that this time the ‘lotus’ will bloom and people’s trust will be won.
