After the dispute between the central and state governments regarding President Draupadi Murmu’s program in West Bengal, the Home Ministry has sought a report from the Chief Secretary of the state. The Ministry has said that complete details should be given regarding the arrangements that should have been made under the protocol during the President’s visit.
According to sources, the Home Ministry has asked the Chief Secretary of West Bengal to reply by 5 pm today. In this report, it will have to be told what arrangements were made by the state government as per the rules during the President’s visit and what kind of preparations were made by the administration for the program. In fact, in recent times, a dispute has come to light between the Central and State Government regarding the President’s visit. Some allegations have also been made by the state government, after which the central government has decided to seek a detailed report in this matter.
President’s visit protocol
The Home Ministry says that it is the responsibility of the state government to follow the protocol decided during the President’s visit and his program. Therefore, it should be made clear what steps were taken regarding security, welcome and other arrangements during the President’s program. Now the situation may become clear after the report sent by the West Bengal administration in this matter. The central government can review the entire matter on the basis of the report.
Protocol during the visit of the President of India
A very strict protocol is implemented during the visit of the President of India to India. This protocol is decided keeping in mind their safety, dignity of the post and smooth functioning of the program. It includes many important rules and arrangements which are mandatory for the local administration and security agencies to follow. The President’s travel schedule is already decided minute-to-minute. It is prepared in advance and approved and the entire program runs accordingly.
