West Bengal News: Two suspected cases of Nipah virus in West Bengal have spread panic in the entire state. Two nurses working in a private hospital in Barasat in North 24 Parganas district have been admitted to the hospital in critical condition after being suspected of Nipah virus infection. The condition of both is said to be very dangerous and they have been kept on ventilation support.

First the sample was tested at Kalyani AIIMS, which strengthened the suspicion of being infected with Nipah virus. After this, the samples have been sent to the laboratory in Pune for further confirmation. According to hospital sources, doctors suspected Nipah virus after looking at the brain scan samples. Samples have been sent to a lab in Pune to ascertain whether the person is infected with Nipah or not.

Therefore, the health department is collecting information about the 2 sick nurses. According to sources, she fell ill at home. One of them, a female nurse, lives in Katoa, East Burdwan. When his condition worsened, he was brought to Burdwan Medical. The sick nurse from Burdwan Medical was brought to Barasat Hospital.
Sick 2 nurses came in contact with 110 to 120 people
The Health Department has constituted a committee. It has been revealed that the two sick nurses had come in contact with 110 to 120 people. The administration is instructing all those who came in contact with the sick two nurses to remain in isolation. A list of who came in contact with that nurse in Burdwan is also being made. Two nurses, a sweeper and a private ambulance driver from Katoa Sub-Divisional Hospital have also been identified and quarantined.
Meanwhile, Beleghata ID Hospital has been instructed to keep separate infrastructure ready for more patients infected with Nipah if they arrive. According to hospital sources, CCU isolation cabin has been kept ready.
